The nCine website has been completely rebuilt using Hugo and the Blowfish theme.
For years the site ran on Jekyll, which worked well but eventually became slow to build and cumbersome to maintain. Managing Ruby gems and dependencies often caused unnecessary friction, and even small updates took longer than they should.
Hugo, written in Go, solves all of that. It's fast, easy to configure, and requires no external dependencies. The new workflow makes editing and publishing content much smoother and more reliable.
The Blowfish theme brings a more professional and consistent layout, better readability, and full responsiveness on all devices. It also makes the navigation clearer and allows projects, features, and news to stand out more cleanly.
This rebuild was also an opportunity to revisit many pages: updating the text, reorganizing sections, and removing outdated content. The goal was to make the information more relevant and easier to follow.
Overall, the site is faster to load, easier to maintain, and better suited for future updates and tutorials.
